Digitech Studio School – Our Curriculum Intent

Digitech Studio School – Our Curriculum Intent

The 14 – 19 curriculum at Digitech Studio School is focussed on offering opportunities for our students within the creative arts, digital and media industries:

  • At Key Stage 4 we offer a broad range of subjects within the creative arts and digital media sectors
  • At Post 16 students can further specialise within these sectors
  • We aim to provide a unique vocational experience, utilising specialist equipment to ensure that our students are industry ready
  • Our option subjects are underpinned by a secure foundation in English, Mathematics and Science, with a focus on developing oracy and literacy
  • We focus on meeting the needs of all students, particularly those from a disadvantaged background or with a special educational need.
  • We seek to improve our teaching of all students through a focussed CPD programme
  • The Digitech code sets our culture (of excellence, trust and aspire) and our behaviour and house systems ensure that students feel a sense of community and reward
  • We provide opportunities for students to lead and work as part of a team through our varied enrichment programme
  • Our careers programme interweaves across our taught curriculum.  Every student is offered bespoke careers advice, and we offer work experience, university visits, visits to and from employers and immersion days to enhance our student experience
  • Our student council drive change across the school, and our discussion groups allow voices from across our community to contribute to this.
  • We value the impact that the wider community can have on the development of our school, and we include the academy council, parents and other stakeholders in our thinking.
  • We link closely with colleagues from across the Cabot Learning Federation, and the HEART values are embedded within our curriculum.

For every student, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, we aim to unlock future educational pathways within the arts, digital and media sectors, which in turn lead to greater life chances. Digitech Studio School is a place where our community feel safe, the enjoyment of learning is tangible, staff are enthusiastic about their subjects, and students are excited to be here. All our learners, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or/and with a special educational need, achieve well at all levels and across our option and core subjects.  Students are consistently proud of their work, which is of a high standard and reviewed by teachers, as observed through books and in classrooms.   Every student leaving Digitech Studio School will have the right qualifications, skills, and qualities ready for a successful and positive future.
