Our KS4 PE curriculum is designed to provide all students with a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning experience. We aim to foster a lifelong engagement with physical activity by helping students discover sports or activities they enjoy and are motivated to pursue beyond school.
Students are active partners in shaping their learning through co-designed curricula and the creation of a Pupil Passport (PP). This passport evidences the skills, experiences, and personal development gained through PE, supporting applications for further education and employment.
We prioritise equity and inclusion by offering choice and flexibility in activities, venues, and equipment, ensuring all students can participate meaningfully. Lessons are structured to support individual identity and autonomy, with staff guidance to nurture confidence and self-awareness.
To extend engagement beyond lessons, we provide break and lunchtime activities that encourage both social and competitive play. Our school teams are based on student votes, and pupil voice is central to shaping our extracurricular and enrichment offer.
Through this approach, we aim to develop physically literate, confident, and self-aware young people who value physical activity as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
