Post 16 Results: Digitech Studio School Bristol
Digitech Studio School Bristol in partnership with Boomsatsuma, Robins Foundation and Bristol School of Acting is pleased to report a set of outstanding achievements by its students in their post-16 qualifications.
More than 60 students achieved the highest possible grades in media, game design, art, acting and dance. Many students are now moving on to prestigious courses and apprenticeships in these specialist areas, enabling them to follow their individual passions in the creative, digital and high-tech sectors.
Chris Ballard, the school’s Principal, said: “We are immensely proud of all of our graduating year 13 students’ achievements and outcomes today.
“The results achieved this year are testament to the commitment and effort of all staff and students who have worked with passion, commitment and resilience over the past two years. The high-quality work produced has resulted in some outstanding outcomes across all courses with many of our students’ securing places in higher education.
“We wish to congratulate all of our students and look forward to hearing about their success in the future as they move on to the next part of their journey in higher education, apprenticeships or employment.”
Luke Fazackerley, Boomsatsuma Head of College, said: “The superb graduating class of ‘24 have put a lot of hard work and effort into their studies. These students have produced excellent work throughout, met live client briefs with enthusiasm and professionalism, with a great team of tutors pushing students to create outcomes beyond their years.
“The students have benefited from Boomstasuma’s strong ties with creative employers across the West Country, with curriculum’s incorporating projects centred around ‘live client briefs’.”
Finding their creative passions means that many of the cohort have secured places across respected UK universities to extend their skills. 15% of students will be staying with Boomsatsuma to start their new chapter in their creative educational journey through Boomsatsuma degrees at our Bristol Film School and Creative Technology Centre.
Luke added: “It is really exciting for us to see these students grow through the last two years, acquiring skills that will equip them for their chosen next step and beyond. We pride ourselves in the comments from employers when they describe the qualities of resilience and professionalism that have become synonymous with a graduate from Boomsatsuma.”
“Ensuring students have a strong destination is enshrined within Boomsatsuma’s mission, which sometimes takes them beyond the obvious career path into the creative sector. From this cohort, students are progressing into very competitive apprenticeships not just in the creative industries but also with Nokia, Civil Engineering and the RAF.
“While these aren’t traditional routes for us, it is testament to the skills taught and learnt on the course that enable graduating students to gain competitive roles, using the creative skillset they have learned, alongside Boomstasuma’s support for careers advice and guidance.”
Polly Wardle, Robins Foundation Head of Education, said: “I would like to congratulate all of the students on today’s results, I know a lot of hard work has been put into achieving these outcomes.
“We are very proud of our students’ achievements, including over 2,500 hours of student volunteering on our community projects, with many students now progressing into paid roles within the Foundation delivering back within their communities.
“I truly believe that the nature of the courses, the support of the staff and the fantastic learning environments provides students with the opportunity and belief that they can achieve. Our strong relationship with Cabot Learning Federation and Digitech Studio School underpins our successes and we are very grateful for their ongoing support.
“We wish our departing students the best of luck transitioning onto their chosen apprenticeship, employment opportunity, or university place and we look forward to welcoming you coming back as part of our alumni network.”
Results included 92% of students achieving a Distinction* or Distinction in the Level 3 Extended Diploma in professional acting.
Stuart Wood, Bristol School of Acting Head of School and Co-Artistic Director said:
“The results are exceptional on every level and are a testament to the talent, discipline, and collective generosity of spirit shown by this remarkable group of students throughout their two-year professional acting course and the quality of the professionals we invite to work with them.
“Their dedication to learning and professional growth has been nothing short of inspiring.
Everyone at the Bristol School of Acting feels privileged to have had the opportunity to teach and guide these students towards such outstanding examination results.
“We wish them all happiness, success, and exciting futures at university, drama school or out in the industry.”
