Digitech Studio School’s Big Vote determines new house system

Digitech Studio School recently conducted a Big Vote to decide on a new house system to begin in September.

Around 100 people were involved in the voting, including Year 10 students, Post 16 students, staff members, and some incoming students who will be joining in September.

The house names up for the vote were Leibovitz House, Walsh House, Kusama House, Banksy House, Muller House, Picasso House, Irving House, Moore House, and Harding House. The names were carefully selected by the Student Council to reflect the unique interests of the students attending Digitech.

After the votes were tallied, the winning house names were announced as Kusama House, named after Yayoi Kusama, contemporary artist primarily in sculpture and painting, Picasso House, named for a Spanish painter and sculptor who lived most his life in France, and Banksy House, a name taken after the Bristol-born street artist whose identity remains unknown.

A spokesperson for the school said the event had been well received by all who participated.

They said: “The day was a huge success and students felt very empowered voting the same day as the national General Election, making them feel included and heard.”
