Digitech Studio School students visit Aardman Animation studios
Year 11 ICT students from Digitech Studio School recently had an incredible opportunity to visit the world-renowned Aardman Animation Studios.
The visit provided a unique educational experience, offering students valuable insights into the animation industry and how professional studios produce, create, and plan new animations.
During the visit, students were given exclusive access to Aardman’s creative spaces, where they engaged in a hands-on activity, crafting their very own army of Feathers McGraws.
Adding to the excitement, an animator who worked on some of the characters in the upcoming Wallace and Gromit film joined the session, sharing firsthand industry knowledge and experiences.
One of the key highlights of the trip was an exclusive sneak preview of Aardman’s highly-anticipated Shaun The Sheep movie, which is currently in production. This special experience gave students a rare glimpse into the creative process behind an upcoming feature film.
Joshua Sterling, Assistant Principal at Digitech Studio School, said: “Students really enjoyed their time at Aardman.
“The experience has significantly raised aspirations for many students to pursue careers in animation.
“It was a fantastic experience, and we can’t wait to see the final film when it is released.”
This visit has undoubtedly inspired students, providing them with a deeper understanding of the animation industry and the exciting career opportunities within it.
