Careers curriculum intent

Students will follow a progressive programme of careers linked to the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks.

This programme will be regularly evaluated gaining feedback from Students, staff, parents and employers.

Students will have access to a range of opportunities and learning that will greatly enhance their understanding and knowledge of careers and employability. This will enable them to make an informed and knowledgably decision about their post 16 and post 18 next steps.

The programme will include input from FE and HE educational providers, apprenticeship providers and employers.

Students will enhance their understanding through school visits to universities, employers and careers fairs.

All students will be given the opportunity to, and greatly encouraged to take part in work experience both in year 10 and year 12.

All students will have access to a qualified careers advisor for a one-to-one meeting resulting in an agreed action plan.

All students will have access to application support for all pathways including UCAS.

The whole programme is working towards the desired outcome that all students will leave Digitech with a positive, aspirational and achievable post 16 / post 18 destination.
